People in Wilmington, NC are lucky, as the FCC announces that their area will be the first to be able to use the newly, FCC-approved device from Koos Technical Services. This device will use the Spectrum Bridge white spaces database for frequency coordination.
The FCC writes that they, “Will expand nationwide pending completion and activation of the Commission’s facilities for processing requests for protection of unlicensed wireless microphone at event venues.”
It looks like the KTS solution could be a very good wireless alternative for utilities, kiosk retailers, etc. that want to implement Machine-to-Machine communications.
